  1. It’s good to hear Paul’s thoughts on where architecture is going and how the fear of change is a big factor on why progress is slow. He has the perspective of an architect and wants to see buildings make a cultural and spiritual contribution. For engineering designers, subs and contractors, BIM’s contributions are obvious and the digital twin approach will make it much easier to incorporate FM, improved sustainability and AI into building performance. These are the areas where we can expect innovation in the future in addition to those that are highlighted by Paul: materials, printed components, increasing use of sensors and off-site manufacturing.
